Match report from yesterday by Jack Harrison
Wrexham returned to winning ways after a fine team performance resulted in a 38-10 victory over Colwyn Bay.
The bonus point victory puts Wrexham one point off top spot but also created a bit of room from the teams below them.
Wrexham’s top scorer Scott Leckie got the first score of the afternoon as he finished well in the corner after a well worked move.
He soon got his second with a brilliant solo try, he received the ball out wide before chipping ahead and dotting down.
Captain Jamie Weston then crossed after a magnificent chip and chase from the experienced Rob Moore led to Weston dotting down in the corner, converted by fly half Sam Rogers.
17-0 at the interval.
Rogers then got a try of his own after a break down the left led to a good position, the ball spilled free and his eyes lit up as he gathered the ball and dived over for a converted score.
Wrexham’s forward pack had asserted their dominance early and after a well set line out maul, Christian Burgoyne dotted down in the corner. Rogers converted with a fine kick from out wide.
After a bit of confusion, James Mostyn crossed in the corner for Colwyn Bay, before prop Luke Williams barrelled his way over to make the score 31-10.
Olly Dodd then put the game to bed as he raced off the back of a scrum and went underneath the sticks for a converted score.
Wrexham now have a week off before looking to return to the top of Division Two against Nant Conwy seconds.
